A position has arisen in the Microbiology department at The Rotherham Foundation Trust for an enthusiastic hard working Medical Laboratory Assistant in Microbiology. The department is fully UKAS accredited and is well equipped with instrumentation including the UF1000i, Bact/Alert Blood culture system, VIDAS, Chorus and DS2 analysers, BD Viper and BD max molecular platforms.

The successful applicant will undergo a period of in-house training and competency testing. Prior laboratory experience in Microbiology would be desirable but not essential.

The applicant must be able to participate in the extended day service (working until 20:00), and rotational weekends and some Bank Holidays once suitably competent.

We would strongly encourage any potential applicants to visit the department for a tour and informal chat before the interviews.
