Network Support Engineer - 90212247

The Network Engineer will be a key technical expert in the delivery of the payment gateway services, utilising their technical knowledge and experience to proactively support the BPS Network Infrastructure services. As a member of the Operations Infrastructure team, the primary function of the role is to ensure the network platform is secure, robust, resilient and compliant to PCI standards.
What will you be doing?
Responsible for ensuring standards are applied during all support and BAU activities
Technical resolution for production incidents
Adherence to Barclays standards for change control, security and design patterns.
Excellent customer skills for direct interaction with internal and external teams.
Follow operational procedures and documentation to ensure a consistently delivery of services in a dynamic environment, updating or adjusting them where required.
Support the Live System Support Teams teams in delivering a highly available and performant service to our customers.
Identify new technologies and services to transform the Network service offering
What we’re looking for:
Cisco CCNA Security and minimum 18 months experience supporting enterprise networks
Cisco CCNA Routing & Switching and minimum 18 months experience supporting enterprise networks
F5 entry level certification or evidence or previous studies
Skills that will help you in the role:
Experience working in a security compliant, financially regulated environment
Good understanding of security concepts and the ability to apply them to basic situations
Strong scripting skills and a desire to automate
Where will you be working?
Barclays Fleet is a technology hub supporting key services for Barclays and Barclaycard. Our Fleet colleagues provide the support required for Barclaycard to process 18 million transactions worth more than £700 million every day, and make sure that 196 Barclaycard payments every second happen seamlessly.
