We at South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) have exciting opportunities within our dynamic and innovative integrated urgent care service which is driven by saving lives and ensuring our patients receive the care that they need.
Calls relating to patients under 18 years of age are a significant part of the work we do, we are recruiting reliable and enthusiastic Paediatric Nurses to join our motivated, friendly and hardworking team of Clinicians based in Otterbourne in Hampshire.
You will be supporting the developing integrated Urgent care service to deliver the best outcomes for all callers – both children and adults.

It’s a very busy service with 1.2million calls a year, every call is different and you do not know what is coming next, we can offer a challenge and lots of variety and a place on our very welcoming team.
Working within this role you will carry out complex clinical telephone triage in a sensitive manner providing assessment, advice and information in line with clinical assessment software whilst utilising your knowledge, experience and professional judgement, referring to other services where appropriate.
Registered Paediatric nurse RN8: Children's nurse, level 1 RNC: Children's nurse, level 1.
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Good level of computer literacy
Ability to communicate effectively
Recent professional clinical experience
Motivated towards further professional development
Understanding of Clinical Governance and audit practices
Flexible working approach
Successful candidates will be required to complete a seven weeks fulltime training programme, covering internal systems, NHS pathways assessments and call centre mentoring. We offer continued support throughout this role.
