We are working with a charitable organistation who work with large numbers of people needing support on a daily basis.
We are looking for someone to be responsible for and to oversee the day to day management, staffing, organisation and smooth running of the Nursery.
Ensuring a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care for children placed in the Nursery to meet Organisation and Professional Bodies Standards
To provide a high standard of quality care and education; creating a welcoming and family friendly environment
Be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures;
To be responsible for all nursery staff, cook, cleaners, students and voluntary workers.
Supervising and supporting all personnel within the Nursery in their day to day duties including recruitment and induction, appraisal, training and development, individual supervision and discipline;
Working in partnership with parents / carers and other family members;
Liaising with the Local Authority and other professional bodies associated with the Nursery;
Overseeing the efficient upkeep of the department / stock of equipment, furnishings and fittings;
Being responsible for all administrative duties associated with the management of the facility.
Being responsible for the collection, recording and banking of fees together with administering a petty cash budget;
Coordinating with appropriate agencies regarding trainee placements and supervising accordingly;
Market and advertise the Nursery as necessary to ensure the Nursery runs to its full capacity.
To effectively manage and utilise financial allocations
Be level 3 NNEB qualified or hold a degree in child care
Have experience working in a senior leader role within a Nursery with at least 3 years experience of working in a similar childcare environment.
Be able to motivate and drive performance ensuring the children have the best experience in the setting
Current knowledge of childcare, child development and the needs and characteristics of young children.
An able and effective communicator, verbally and in writing, literate, numerate and IT literate
To know what constitutes good quality in relation to day-care, play, nursery education and family support.
This role will be subject to a formal interview and enhanced DBS check.
