Teaching Personnel are working alongisde a Primary School to recruit a fluent welsh teaching assistant to work in the nursery to cover a maternity. The position is full time and is set to being on the 6th of January 2020 and will last two terms. The ability to communicate through the medium of welsh is essential for this post.
The school is on the outskirts of the town of Caerphilly and so it comes under the care of Caerphilly local authority. The school admits children from the whole ability level at the beginning of the term following their third birthday.Welsh is the main teaching and learning and all pupils are expected to be fluent in Welsh and English by the end of key stage 2. The school has 9 classes including one nursery class.
The school are currently looking for a fluent welsh Teaching Assistant to cover a maternity cover position in the nursery class from January the 6th until the summer term. Observation trials are currently being held and will end on the 13th of December. Observation trials include spending the day in the nursery where you will be observed to see if you are suitable for the role. Feedback is given instantly within 24 hours of the observation trial.
If successful for this post, you will need to possess a CHILD ONLY DBS on the Update Service and be registered with the Education Workforce Council. Teaching Personnel can help with the process of getting all vetting checks done prior to starting.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Working with children aged between 2-3 years old;
-Working between 8:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday;
-Provide personal progression and academic support by following the National Curriculum;
-Work collaboratively with colleagues to continue to meet the standards required for the children to progress;
-Support pupils to understand instructions, support independent learning and play and to promote the inclusion of all pupils;
-Share information about pupils with other staff, parents / carers, internal and external agencies, as appropriate and in line with school policies and procedures;
-Work inside and in the outside area on occassions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
