The Role:

Strategize and execute all trading activity across the Evans online platforms.


Day to Day:

Supporting the Online Trading Manager in creating and delivering the trading strategy

Evaluating department performance through all KPIs; traffic, conversion, availability, stock and sales, making recommendations for improvement

Quickly analysing trading patterns with sufficient level of detail to ensure appropriate action is taken

Create short and medium term action plans at department/category level and coordinating with digital stakeholders to deliver

Responsible for maintaining and managing the activity calendar – Key dates, promotions, campaigns and marketing activity

Oversee set up, testing and maintenance of all promotional activities

Highlighting barriers to purchase, and actively driving solutions to combat these

Being the digital point of contact for B&M, working closely with them to understand department strategy, key drivers, intake weeks etc. and using this knowledge to drive online trade for these areas

Liaising with the Core Merchandising teams to potentialise online performance

Communicating with the warehouse and Logistics to enable effective planning and forecasting – providing them with accurate forecasts

Supporting Online Trading Manager with monthly/seasonal planning activity

Building and maintaining a strong and varied network of contacts – across the Evans and Wallis ecommerce team, wider Evans & Wallis floor and Group

Providing support, training and development for the Trading Assistant


Must Haves:

Trading Mentality – curious about numbers, investigate and challenge performance, action orientated

Enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging environment to deliver required changes and make tangible differences

The ability to build strong relationships with key business areas with excellent interpersonal skills

Is results focused – able to prioritise initiatives based on impact to the business

Develops new ideas, considers potential outcomes and develops action plans

Problem Solving – able to gather all information and identify problems quickly, using creativity to propose actionable solutions

Numerate with good analytical skills and customer-focused

Can demonstrate the ability to stay positive under pressure and stay focused on goals

A proven ability to work quickly and efficiently with accuracy and attention to detail

Able to present facts and opinions to colleagues

Would suit an existing Assistant Merchandiser or an Online trading assistant looking to step up

Good knowledge of Excel required
