Newcastle University Business School is seeking an individual with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisation skills to act as the Personal Assistant to the Director of the Business School.You will undertake a wide range of duties across the School and externally in relation to the Director’s broad portfolio, working to support objectives set out in our ambitious School Vision and Strategy. Following a recent Professional Services reorganisation, there has been significant additional staff resource invested in the School.

You will have demonstrable experience of working with internal and external stakeholders at senior level, as well as proven ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of academic and professional service individuals and teams. You will possess a proven ability to use initiative, adopt a creative and flexible approach to problem solving and exercise judgement and discretion. You will have a clear understanding of the work practices and procedures relevant to the role of an assistant to a senior manager in a large organisation. This will include experience of establishing, reviewing and developing administrative systems in office environments, communicating and coordinating instructions, providing and obtaining information, assisting with project work, and servicing and supporting meetings.

You will have considerable recent relevant administrative experience in a supervisory role within a higher education establishment or other large organisation.You will lead, inspire and develop the Operations Administrator and the Operations Assistant in the Business, Planning and Governance team.
