Based at our Lymington Port

Wightlink is one of the largest UK domestic ferry companies, carrying over 4.8 million passengers a year across the Solent.

Recent development and regeneration of our six port locations has taken place to complement our new Hybrid Energy Flagship Victoria of Wight and her supporting fleet of five ships and two catamarans.

As a Port Operator you will be based at our Lymington Terminal positioned at the tip of the New Forest National Park offering picturesque views of the Western Solent. The port supports three ships operating on our Lymington – Yarmouth service.

As part of our Port Operations team targeting ‘Raising the Standard ’the successful applicants will will be expected to collaborate closely in the establishment and continuous development of motivated, focused teams that are committed to a customer excellence centred ethos.

Duties will include:

Assist in the safe and efficient loading and discharging of vessels in the planned time frame

Ticket sales – route specific (L-Y)


Dangerous goods declarations

Tow baggage trolleys with Tow truck on and off vessel – port & role specific

Conduct gritting procedures – port & role specific

Marshalling traffic or people through the port

Safe letting go & tying up of vessels – role specific

Opening up / closing of the port

Cash handling

Cash dispensing and money counting – port and role specific

Drive trade cars – port and role specific

Forklift activities – port and role specific
