Role Title: Pension Analyst
Closing date: 21st May
The purpose of this role is to advise and manage key areas of balance sheet risk for RSA Group including the strategy and relationship with the Group’s defined benefit pension schemes and the development of asset allocation framework.
Development and ongoing management of relationship with UK pension scheme trustees to support the implementation of the Group’s strategic aims
Development of asset and liability management strategies to reduce costs or risks to the Group arising from its defined benefit pension obligations
Delivery of support to the Group’s overseas operation in the management of their pension exposures
Delivery of insight and support to the operational management of the Group’s pensions including accounting returns and board reporting
Oversight and sign-off of the capital modelling of the Group’s pension risks
Building framework around the optimal construction of investment asset allocation taking into account capital, risk, regulatory and accounting implications
Providing insight on the broader risk management of the Group’s balance sheet and developing strategy in response.
- An applicant is likely to come from an actuarial role although required pension experience may be a limiting factor
- Recommendations to regional and Group management committees in respect of pension and asset allocation strategies
- Active management of pension scheme trustee relationships to deliver the Group’s targeted aims
Ideally a qualified actuary with significant experience within defined benefit pension schemes. The applicant should also have a strong working knowledge of ALM, investment markets and strategies.
