This post is available on a full-time, fixed term basis from 16 September 2019, to provide maternity cover for a period of 12 months.

Summary of the role/position

The University of Exeter Doctoral College was established to support the University’s vision to become a sector leading provider of Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) supervision and support and early career researcher (ECR) training and opportunities. By supporting the recruitment and development of world-class PGRs and ECRs, the Doctoral College will drive a step change in the Exeter experience and the research excellence to which such researchers contribute.

We bring together institution-wide support, training, and administration for all of our postgraduate and early career researchers, working across all six Academic Colleges within the University as well as key Professional Services, to ensure that postgraduate and early career researchers have an outstanding start to their research careers.

The PGR Support Team are accountable for the full PGR administrative lifecycle. In your role you will lead a high quality, customer focused service and be responsible for the administration of a portfolio of disciplines whilst providing supervision for other administrative staff within the team where appropriate. This will support the planned growth in PGR numbers through the delivery of effective offer management and studentship administration.

You will need knowledge and experience of HE administrative systems, databases and processes, excellent attention to detail, organisation and planning, and as an experienced leader you will work to develop an effective team working culture.
