Job Title: Pricing Analyst
Location: SDC (Southern Hub)
Working as part of the Pricing Analysis team, which provides day to day support for Sales when they require pricing solutions and supporting analysis. The role holder will receive daily requests from Sales and must respond within a defined SLA. They will ensure all pricing activity supports UK commercial objectives and is executed in line with local and global pricing policies and procedures.
The Pricing Analyst role is fast moving and pressurised due to a high volume of requests, the need to meet tight turnaround times and the high demands from Sales as they look to grow revenue. The role holder must understand the Express commercial strategy and the drivers of commercial performance. They must be a confident and clear communicator who forges strong relationships but is prepared to constructively challenge and make tough decisions to protect profitability. They must understand all aspects
of pricing tools, policies and procedures, with great attention to detail and a proactive mindset. They will work as part of a close knit team so should be a team player who shares knowledge and ideas and is willing to assist colleagues. They must have strong analytical skills, being able to confidently manipulate data in Excel and be able to draw conclusions from data and back up their
decisions with sound analysis.
Conduct revenue and profit simulations , using all available tools correctly
Analyse customer shipping profiles, summarising detailed data to draw conclusions
Log all requests and keep accurate records for audit purposes
Explain analysis to Sales, ensuring they understand the reasons behind decisions
Be able to explain pricing concepts and objectives confidently, including to senior management
Show an interest in the wider business, and pricing examples from outside DHL, to become a more rounded analyst
Make time to visit Sales meetings, ensuring strong relationships with colleagues and a good understand of respective
goals and challenges
Champion the pricing agenda
Good performance against SLA as measured against peers.
Analysis clear and well documented
Excellent feedback from Sales in terms of helpfulness and responsiveness
Has attended Sales meetings
Presents confidently and explains decisions well
Defends yield; decisions are not dominated by drive for revenue
