What you’ll be doing...
Acquisition of new Alliance Partners for International Business including qualification, deal structure, leadership of negotiation and closing Alliance Partner contracts.
Functional ownership and lead development of Alliance Partner acquisition process, interlocks and stakeholder management for International Business.
Accountable that all relevant stakeholder approvals are made and that all relevant decision gates for Verizon internal processes are passed.
Owns and develops Alliance Partner pipeline, identifying suspects, qualifying prospects and ensuring relevant reporting is completed.
Description: Understands the nature of Telecoms/IT market, nature of Verizon’s existing customers, staff and services in the Territory. Using this, develops the detailed Strategy to create an alliance partnership which delivers business value to Verizon. Manages and executes this strategy to close Alliance Partnership over 3-6 month period.
Creates the final business proposal which matches the Strategy and takes input from all stakeholders (Corporate M&A, Finance, Operations, Sales, HR, Legal) and satisfies corporate policies (e.g. CPS-103).
Performs Gap Analysis of potential Partner’s business; recommends and influences potential Alliance Partner to adopt business practices and delivery processes that are compatible with Verizon standard processes and deliver the same or better level of service to transferring/new customers.
Analyses products and sales to existing customers in territory and decides which customers to bring into scope for potential transfer and whether the transfer can be completed successfully given other “in-flight” programs and projects.
Understands the regulatory, competition and taxation laws (in conjunction with Legal) and how they apply to each potential partner in each territory. Ensures that agreement has been reached with all counsels (internal, external and partner’s) on legality and desirability of potential partnership, it’s business form and competition processes and procedures).
As the only stakeholder with full visibility of all “towers” (e.g. Operations, Legal, HR, and Finance) ensures that there are no gaps that have not been addressed within the towers and that decisions made by each tower in isolation do not have an adverse effect on other areas of the potential partnership.
Will interact daily with:
Partner ‘C’ Level and board members
Partner SMEs
Verizon Stakeholders (mainly Director, VP and ELT level)
Legal, Financial, Operations, Sales and HR SMEs.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Ability to understand legal concepts/drafting and propose new drafting (existing and new contracts).
Ability to analyse financial information at a country, customer and product level.
Functional leadership and ability to close large ($100M+) complex International contracts.
Stakeholder management both internal and external.
Credibility at board level and mastery of complex detail relevant to partnership.
Understanding of underlying Verizon processes, procedures and approval processes.
Understanding of what’s possible (albeit new or difficult) for Verizon.
