Job Title: Procurement Category Lead (£50,000
Background: This role plays a key part in the Procurement Function, supporting the development and implementation of Category Management Strategies on a Nuclear Engineering project in the South West of England.
My client are looking for a Category Lead with around 10 years' experience with experience in a project procurement environment.
Preferably with an engineering or manufacturing bias.
Role: * Develop Procurement strategies that maximise value * Implement Procurement and Supply Chain strategy, including negotiation with suppliers and evaluating on-going supplier performance * Conduct sourcing activities to support overall Category strategy * Conduct market engagement, tendering evaluation, negotiation and contract award activities * Assist with the design of supply chains and sourcing strategy * Review supplier base to reduce low-value transactional activity and focus on managing strategically important suppliers * Manage the performance of key suppliers using appropriate KPI's to improve performance and engagement * Support performance management and its implementation and compliance across Group * With Project Procurement Director agree upon Value Delivery targets * Monitor and report process on a monthly basis * Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and hold a regular performance updates and reviews
Qualifications and Experience: * Business / Finance / Engineering or other related degree * MCIPS is preferable * Experience in Strategic Sourcing / Category Management role * Good knowledge and understanding of Procurement techniques * Track record of delivering year-on-year Procurement savings * Experience of managing sourcing projects through lifecycle * Good communication skills * Strategic thinker * Energetic and enthusiastic about Procurement and Supply Chain
Must be able to obtain SC clearance, or must have held SC clearance within the last 12 months.
