Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join their growing team in Ripley.

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Ripley Fire Station, Derby Road, Ripley

Salary: £19,554 - £24,313 per annum

Hours: The normal working week is 37 hours however you may occasionally need to work beyond normal office hours

Procurement Officer – The Role:

This exciting and varied role will support the work of the Procurement Manager across all aspects of the Procurement activity including tendering, procurement analysis, contract development and contract management. You will also work closely with the Constabulary Procurement team on collaborative projects and procurement.

Procurement Officer – Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include creating and the management of a product catalogue for a diverse range of products and services and assisting and maintaining the procurement department systems database.

You will also be responsible for providing cover at the Service Stores as well as undertaking periodic stock takes and the maintenance of a computerised Inventory management system.

Procurement Officer – You:

Effective communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with individuals at all levels of our organisation as well as our customers and suppliers.

Ideally you should have experience of working within a purchasing environment together with stock holding processes and procedures.

You will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade A to C) and a BTEC in Business Administration or equivalent and be willing to study towards the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. The study towards the Diploma level 4 of CIPS will be funded by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue.

There will be a requirement for some travel (to assist with stores deliveries to stations) for which a pool van will be provided.
