Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary QSW to work with Staffordshire County Councils Childrens Safeguarding Team in Tamworth. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £27.53 per hour via an umbrella company.

The role:

The safeguarding units take responsibility for the county's child in need and child protection activities including assessment, intervention, service planning, child protection enquiries and the delivery of child protection plans. The service has the lead role in the initiation and early planning of care proceedings, retaining case responsibility for the duration of these proceedings where children remain at home. The service also works with children who are looked after, prior to their transferring to a specialist looked after children team.

The specialist safeguarding teams work closely with the Local Support Teams within Targeted Services in the stepping up and down of cases, providing an in reach service to the Local Support Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Holding and managing a full caseload, prioritising all work in accordance with the Directorate's Policies and Procedures, standing orders, budgets and all relevant legislation.
Complying at all times with the policy and procedures of Families First (People) in respect of all aspects of work.
Ensuring that all work is completed within the stated timescales in accordance with both national and local policy.
Planning, carrying out and monitoring all activities required for individual children and families to ensure that they achieve their assessed outcomes.
Undertaking regular reviews of individual children's and families situations and to use the outcome to formulate new arrangements and plans in conjunction with service users and other agencies.
Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: Degree approved by Social Work England.
Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
Compliance: Up to date SWE registration and DBS.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
