Location: Letchworth Garden City

Monday to Thursday 09:00am - 17:30am Friday 09:00 - 16:30pm

Salary: £16,000 - £17,000

Job Purpose:

The role provides business and administrative support to individuals and teams who provide support and supervised contact to children and young people in the care of Herts CC with their parents, family and significant adults.

The role also involves being the first point of contact for children and young people arriving at a contact centre and to help ensure children and young people are respectfully dealt with and have a safe environment for any contacts.

Key Responsibilities:

Meeting and greeting children, young people and their families attending a centre for contact.

Ensuring that all visitors are well looked after, providing them with clear information to facilitate contacts

Update and manage computer databases and spreadsheets, provide reports and assist in compiling information such as statutory returns, H&S, manage and track performance indicators.

Utilise software packages such as Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint in the maintenance and preparation of documentation

Provide professional support to Managers dealing with confidential and sensitive matters, answer telephone calls and provide information as a first point of contact

Undertake a range of administrative duties such as note and minute taking, filing, scanning and photocopying and deal with all general matters including purchase ordering, correspondence, invoices and timesheets

Manage team commitments avoiding scheduling conflicts and arrange meetings and training courses, venues, agendas

The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary.

Skills/ Experience:

Although there are no specific qualifications required for this roles previous experience in service delivery or a business related qualification would be beneficial. You will be a competent administrator with experience of working directly with the public and who is confident to be the first point of contact and possess excellent customer care skills.

You will be self-motivated, professional and approachable providing excellent team support and best practice at all times. You must be willing to undertake a variety of administrative tasks, operating within Serco policies and procedures.
