The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is expanding and we are looking to recruit staff to join our Registration Team. We’re looking for individuals who have a great attitude, are willing to work as part of a team and can demonstrate outstanding customer service and organisational skills, enthusiasm and dedication to ensure our customers receive the best quality service.

Who we are

The SSSC is the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce. We protect the public by registering social service workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct we can investigate and take action. There are over 200,000 people employed in social services in Scotland. Over 100,000 of these people are registered with the SSSC.

The role

The Registration team process applications for registration with the SSSC and manage a range of other tasks to maintain the Register of social service workers in Scotland. You will deal with a range of enquiries by telephone and email relating to applications and keeping the Register up to date. You will have the autonomy to take responsibility for your own workload and make sure you meet agreed deadlines. Knowledge of IT systems and excellent in keyboard skills are essential.

In return, we offer a wide range of employee benefits, including a flexible working scheme, car parking, pension contributions, a generous annual leave entitlement, occupational health, Employee Assistance Programme and Healthy Working Lives events and activities.

You’ll also be given the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification should that be a career choice for you.

How to apply

You’ll find more information in the job description and person specification on our website.
