Description

REED Social Care are currently recruiting for a residential Support Worker, working with children with profound learning disabilities and challenging behaviours in a respite care home based in Sheffield.

The role is full time - 37 hours per week on a rota basis and is a mix of early and late shifts. The role is initially for 2 months, with the scope of being extended in 2 month blocks. The pay rate ranges from £9.00 to £15.30 per hour - dependent on shift enhancements for evening and weekend work.

In this role you will enhancing the lives of children with learning disabilities, assisting with the development of life skills, inclusive of personal and communication skills. You will be supporting the service user to make sure all their needs and wishes are met, supporting them with daily activities. Doing so in an environment that respects and values the service user.

As per client request you will have worked within a similar environment for at least 6 months and we can only consider females for this role and there will be elements of personal care.

Please note - the successful applicant will need to be available to attend a competency based registration interview with REED Social Care Sheffield before being placed out to work.

You will also require a fully enhanced DBS at the cost of £44 (refunded with 6 months of starting work when you have worked a 100 hours) or you may already have your DBS on the update service.
