Description

We're looking for volunteers to help us in our shop helping vistors and customers and continuing our tradition of excellent customer service. The shop is a fantastic place to meet a variety of people and stocks a wide variety of products including pottery, fudge, stationary, toys, books and handbags! This is a great opportunity to work within a beautiful castle and to be part of a very friendly and supportive team of staff and volunteers. Brodie Castle is situated 4 miles from the picturesque town of Forres, set within 178 acres. It is often referred to as the hidden gem of the National Trust for Scotland and is home to a superb collection of porcelain, furniture and 20th century art.


Information

The castle is open from 10.30 to 4.30 and to 5.00 in the busy tourist season.


Shift details

Minimum Of 2 Hours Between 11 - 5


Purpose

Our objective is to increase the revenue for the Trust to enable it to carry out essential conservation work. A vital way of achieving this is to increase sales and membership within the retail outlets of our properties.


Duties

Assisting customers with their purchases and advising them on the items for sale. Processing till and credit card transactions. Maintaining the high standard of customer service and housekeeping. Positively promoting the National Trust for Scotland to visitors and customers within the shop.


Support

Volunteers will be given the necessary training for the role and will work closely with the Property staff and volunteers.


Knowledge/Experience/Support/Background

Previous experience in a retail/commercial setting would be an advantage but not essential. Friendly, outgoing personality with a flexible approach to the task. Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision. Confidence in handling money
