Provision of safety & environmental advice as required by site needs and training to staff on a planned basis.
The role involves investigation of incidents, the generation of EHS data and analysis reports and KPI data.  Essential self-directing the position holder should be able to generate their own workloads and priorities. Good team working, and communication skills are essential. 
Investigates accident and determines appropriate course of remedial action in conjunction with local management.
Compiles, interprets and delivers accident/incident statistics and determines future direction to address trends.
Ensure EHS compliance with UK and MSD regulatory requirements standards and procedures. Can develop site systems to meet compliance requirement.
Promote culture of EHS excellence at site and provide high-quality technical leadership to assigned operations.
Develop, define and monitor safety metrics at a site and programme level to drive the facility’s safety continual improvement processes.
Coordinate EHS technology transfer implementation for new products and operations.
Co-ordination of internal and external resources to deliver a quality and efficient support service.
Responds to site emergency alarms, acts as the safety department point of contact with the emergency team and deputises for the safety & environment manager as emergency controller.
Develops and maintains the site emergency plan and detailed action plans.
Develops and can conducts site safety inductions for all new staff.
Compiles and maintains the site safety inspection system, can analyse results and identify trends
Undertakes risk assessments of various types are required. Management of the risk assessment programme.
Optimize existing operations and practices with focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
Can work cross-functionally, identify EHS problems and provide possible alternatives and solutions.
Participate on project teams to ensure safe design and construction.
Maintains a current knowledge of Safety & Environmental legislation and advises as required
Compiles and delivers safety and environment training programmes in accordance with the safety training matrix and yearly plan. Liaises with outside training providers when required.
Audits waste disposal sites to ensure that they meet MSD standards, submits written reports to Central Safety for review. Carries out internal Safety & Environmental audits of areas, systems and procedures.
Maintains the registers of S&E legislation and monitors compliance with requirements.
Evaluates contractors to ensure satisfactory levels of safety expertise and methodology – advises on selection of contractors.
Evaluates the adequacy and compliance with standards of all PPE in use on site. Determines systems for the use and monitoring of the use of PPE.
Support EHS teams with technical advice and systems.  
Maintains and communicates chemical hazard data to appropriate areas and site personnel.
Can lead hazops and document actions to completion.
A graduate/post-graduate degree level H&SE.
Experience in environment, safety and industrial hygiene management.
Strong leadership skills.
