The Environmental Dimension Partnership Limited is an established environmental planning consultancy, we are a broad-based practice with experience in all areas of professional ecological consultancy, as well as landscape, archaeology, arboriculture and masterplanning services. We have a small-team culture and deliver bespoke, creative solutions to our clients in the residential, commercial, energy and renewables sectors.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Seasonal Ecologists to assist the EDP Ecology Team over the 2020 ecology survey season. Positions are anticipated to last for a minimum of 6 months commencing 1st April to 30 September, during which time you will be based out of one of our four offices located in Cirencester, Cheltenham, Cardiff, or Shrewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn and further develop your ecology survey and consultancy skills, working alongside our talented ecology team.

Your primary role will be to assist the wider EDP Ecology Team in undertaking habitat and protected species surveys, providing Clerk of Works support, and assisting with data input, analysis, research and report writing. During this time, you will be supervised and supported by a strong team of ecology experts, enabling you to gain valuable training and experience of survey methodologies, mitigation and best practice techniques required by the professional consultancy industry.

You will have a relevant first degree and preferably a post-graduate qualification, with a proficiency in MS Office. In addition, you will be a confident field ecologist with experience beyond that gained in an academic context. The position would ideally suit persons with prior experience in a consultancy environment or similar. Great crested newt and/or bat survey experience/licence holders would be highly desirable.

In addition to the right qualifications and experience you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. You will also have a full, clean driving licence and access to your own car for business use.
