We’re looking for a professional to join our Front Office Supervisory Control and Operational Risk Management team to help manage the risks the Securities Division is faced with.OUR IMPACT   Our core value is building strong relationships with our institutional clients, which include corporations, financial service providers, and fund managers. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial team with a passion for the markets, with individuals who thrive in fast-paced, changing environments and are energized by a bustling trading floor.The Supervisory Control and Operational Risk team performs Front Office operational risk management for Securities Division and reports through the co-COOs of the Securities Division to the Division Heads.   The team complements the Divisional Risk teams which focus on market risk, counterparty risk, liquidity risk and capital risk.  The team exists to both address immediate risk management priorities in the operational risk space within Securities Division and to develop new innovations in this field.  The focus of the team is the operating risks that arise within the activities of the Securities Division, including both traditional business lines and electronic trading business lines; we are less focused on the operating risks that arise within operations units that support the business.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL- Ensure transparency of risks to traders and senior management by summarizing and reporting risks - Perform risk analysis (including coordinating Integrated Risk and Control Self-Assessments) - Liaise with trading desks to understand business activities, workflows and existing policies and controls and to lead uplifting of those controls where required - Review the Division’s trading activity and compliance with policies and controls - Lead implementation of various risk related regulatory initiatives - Monitor market and economic trends to identify risks and potential business implications   Projects/Development:   - Working with Divisional Risk Strategists and Desk Strategists to develop and implement risk metrics across Trading Desks - Developing tools, reports and controls for trading desks to manage risks using front office systems     SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR   - Strong academic record with Bachelor’s degree, equivalent or above required - Experience in operational risk management/control discipline within investment banking/financial services industry required - A thorough understanding of Securities/trading businesses and markets/advanced risk management techniques required - Strong project management experience with demonstrable involvement with continuous improvement (process, quality) initiatives required - Experience of leading governance processes and implementing supervisory controls required - Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint - Must demonstrate involvement in ensuring supervisory framework and systems accuracy - Experience in evaluating operational risk and mitigating controls and knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance required - Experience of performing risk analysis and developing tools, reports and controls for trading teams required - Specific areas of experience which would be beneficial include any of: detailed knowledge of cash or derivatives asset classes and instruments, human systems, conduct risk management, application of artificial intelligence methods, electronic trading, coding, cybersecurity, insider threats, counter-intelligence, medical risk management, aerospace risk management, military special operations or similar areas of experience - Confident interpersonal skills due to the high level of senior management liaison required - Excellent communication skills; able to communicate concisely and accurate - Must be a collaborative team-player
