Job description

  • Entry level
  • No Education
  • Salary £34,179.00 - £37,152.00 gross per year
  • Cheshunt

Is it important to you that all learners have access to the best possible learning opportunities?

Are you involved with the SEND provision, and ready to step up into Leadership?

Do you hold, or are you willing to work towards the National Qualification for SENCo?

If you are responding positively to the above then this could be the perfect role for you!

You will be joining a one form entry school in Cheshunt, this is a well-respected school in the local community and this role is available because of organic change within the school. You will be a SENCo or a talented teacher aspiring to lead Special Educational Needs from January 2020. The purpose of the role is expressly to lead the inclusion of vulnerable groups across this nurturing and inclusive school. it is important to note that we can wait for the right applicant, as resignation date has passed.

You will be working very closely with an experienced Leadership team to develop the practice across the whole school. You will have Line Management responsibility for the Learning Support and Teaching Assistants within the school. This role is 3 days per week, Monday is a necessity but the other two days are flexible.

The educator body at this school has an especially strong relationship, perhaps because of it being a One Form Entry School; it is expected that you will both value this and enrich that relationship as a key member of the SLT.

This role would especially suit you if you are at the top of the Main Pay Scale and ready to take on development within your own career. There is a possibility that you could move on to the Leadership Pay Scale in this post, dependent upon your current position.

It is expected that you will have a strong grasp of how to apply for plans, support and funding as necessary in relation to enriching the offering for SEND learners.

Perhaps the most important thing that is expected of you is that you be a nice person that is kind, approachable and reliable. It would also be great if you brought a sense of humour with you to what can be a very serious area of school life.

I am happy to receive applications from you if you are an experienced SENCo but the rich amount of experience and resource available within the existing team make this an excellent role for a developing leader. If you do not hold the National Award for SENCo's then you will be funded and supported through obtaining the award.

Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the school which is in Cheshunt and has excellent transport links as well as parking for drivers.

Please note that the Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009 apply to this position and therefore you are required to complete the "disqualification by association" declaration form. Should you be successful in your application for this post, your appointment can not be progressed without this declaration.
