Job Title: Senior Control Manager (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Barclays has a unique opportunity to hire a Senior Control Manager for an initial 12 month fixed term contract. The Chief Controls Office (CCO) is an integral part of the Cards and Payments Transaction Cycles, providing a ‘first line of defence’ risk & control advisory service to ensure the division operates in control. The UK business is critical to the growth and ongoing success of Cards and Payments Transaction Cycles and there is a need for a control VP to join the CCO organisation,
What will you be doing?
To provide risk and governance expertise, leadership, guidance and educational support to Process Owners, Risk & Control Owners, Operators and other key stakeholders around building and enhancing a sound control environment to ensure the business is operating in control.
To provide independent assurance of the key control environment and to drive our control automation agenda.
To build a culture where risk management and control are central to everything we do and controls assurance is owned and evidenced by Process, Risk and Control owners.
To ensure key risks and associated controls, control-related actions and observations are appropriately reported, tracked, evidenced and closed, to the satisfaction of the control owners and other key stakeholders (e.g. Operational Risk, Audit).
Successfully lead a virtual team of control managers to support the execution of CCO and Business agenda
What we’re looking for:
o Experience of working in or with a Control Function (first, second or third line of defence).
o Working knowledge of Risks prevalent in an Operations division.
o Knowledge of Loans/Card Payment/Payment Authorisation/Collections operations and the financial services industry in general.
o Experience of operating as part of a distributed, global team in a matrix organisation.
o Proven track record of delivering changes to the Control Environment.
Skills that will help you in the role:
o Degree qualified (or equivalent) and/or High Performance track record throughout career.
o Formal qualification in Risk Management and/or Audit, for example International Certificate in Risk Management CIRM or equivalent.
