Data Managers provide critical support to all game projects within the studio. They ensure the smooth operation of vital software services, perform key data operations and provide help-desk troubleshooting for our project development environment. Key to the role is a supportive and reactive attitude with strong, methodical technical troubleshooting abilities. Quality communication and an approachable nature is vital as the role involves interaction with colleagues of all disciplines within game production and with other Ubisoft studios and technical departments.
Lead Data Manager
Provide a support role for production tools to users within an environment of 200+ developers and multiple game productions.
Identify tool support requirements for the team and proactively discuss requirements with the Tools Team.
Co-ordinate a support request enabling the team to have the right contacts i.e. Tools or Engineering when a problem goes beyond Data Manager responsibility.
Be a primary point of contact for external support teams (HQ, Studio Collaboration etc.).
Provide project pipeline support including workstation configuration and tool configuration.
Maintain a good general knowledge of the production pipelines and tools and provide up-to-date documentation on workflow methods, pipeline systems within a centralised accessible location.
Collaborate with partner studios to share technology and best practices.
Game Build Delivery
Responsible for the consistency of data and versions.
Deliver game builds to Development and QC Teams (internal and external).
Deliver game builds for external contacts at the request of Production (i.e. Localisation, Marketing, HQ).
Upload DLC to First Parties.
Support production in the preparation of submissions material.
Follow, uphold and help to define SCM and other best practices.
Provide Perforce account support for the team along with perforce Administration of users, groups, permissions and filetypes.
Configure and maintain Perforce instances.
Support Perforce branch management and perform integration requests as needed.
Build System and Build Farm
Monitor build system for failures and errors and flag these to build engineers, development team and QC as appropriate.
Ensure quality and tracking of daily data generations.
Proactively predict and resolve future issues (e.g. capacity constraints, maintenance intervals, etc).
Proactively propose, develop and deploy improvements to our production processes and look for opportunities to optimise developer workflow.
Alongside production and IT, monitor and manage the NAS Storage used by all Studio projects.
Support creation of the Closing Kit with the development team.
Build connections within the Ubisoft DM community and proliferate best practice and expertise to other studios and productions.
Provide mentorship to other Data Managers on the team
Assume primary responsibility for Data Management on specific game productions.

Knowledge of a source control system (Perforce is especially beneficial)
