Description

An opportunity has arisen with a leading technology group in Cambridge for a Senior DevOps Engineer adept with all things AWS. Having worked alongside the current CTO for over a decade, we can vouch that this is a team we love growing as there is great leadership from the front. With a steady pipeline of DevOps-focused projects as a result of continued growth & success, they are looking to bolster their current DevOps team. Complimenting an 80+ strong team, principally we are looking to speak with someone experienced with AWS products including EC2, ECS & Elastic Beanstalk (to name a few), proficiency with JavaScript or Python & solid system administration experience.

The successful candidate will join an existing DevOps team of 4 with a focus on developing the cloud infrastructure & supporting the software development process of web application, Embedded & mobile teams. There are three key areas for this position, 1) Maintaining their AWS platform ensuring continuous availability and scalability, 2) Working through their DevOps project pipeline and 3) Advising with group wide technical teams on best practice and implementing best available services. Within this, you will also be expected to stay up to date with security best practices & integrate security at every level of the stack as well as investigating new technology & solutions as required. Of central importance for this role is demonstrable experience with multiple AWS products, strong proficiency with JavaScript or Python & system administration skills. Further experience of Docker or other container technology together with knowledge of building continuous integration pipelines (Jenkins, Circle-CI, Gitlab) & configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack) would also add value to your application.
