Description

Who we are

The SSSC is the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce. We protect the public by registering social service workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct we can investigate and take action. There are over 200,000 people employed in social services in Scotland. Over 100,000 of these people are registered with the SSSC.

The role

An excellent opportunity has arisen in our Strategy and Performance Directorate for someone with enthusiasm and experience to join our team as a Senior Intelligence Analyst on a permanent basis.

We’re looking for someone with experience of analysis to join our Performance and Improvement department. This department brings together performance management, business intelligence, quality management and organisational development and improvement work.

You will play a key role in developing and delivering our intelligence led way of working. As an experienced and competent analyst you will take on a lead role and use your talents to make a real difference to people using care services across Scotland.

You will lead and oversee the production of several analytical products. You will carry out day to day analysis work and support the development of the wider team. You will be proactive in identifying opportunities to develop intelligence-led working both within the SSSC and with the many external organisations we collaborate with.

What you need to succeed

You will ideally come from a background which includes either statistical analysis, intelligence analysis, operational research or business intelligence. You will be expected to work with colleagues at all levels in the SSSC therefore, in addition to your analytical capabilities, you should have excellent interpersonal skills, and be capable of conveying complex findings clearly both verbally and in writing.

Why work for us

The successful candidate will have access to a full range of benefits including up to 43 days holiday (service dependent), pension and opportunities for flexible working.

Living in Dundee

Scotland’s sunniest city, Dundee is the UK’s first UNESCO City of Design and made Lonely Planet’s top 10 European hotspots in 2018 for its growing cultural scene and the transformation of the city’s historic waterfront. Dundee also made the National Geographic 2019 ‘must see cool list’.

Our offices are on the banks of the River Tay, right at the heart of the redesigned waterfront, close to the railway station and bus links and on the Green Circular cycle path, which goes right around the city.

We are next door to the new V&A Dundee and Captain Scott’s famous ship, RRS Discovery, built here in 1900. The city is a great shopping destination, surrounded by many eateries and bars. It is also rich in scenery with lovely beaches and parks.

We believe that the SSSC and Dundee offer a great place to begin or expand your career.
