Responsible for supporting the SM&CR HR Manager in their day to day activities to embed the regime into the AA culture and ‘AA way’. This is a key enabler of change through the people strategy to influence behaviours, making individuals more accountable for their conduct and competence in regard of customers.
What will I be doing?
HR operational support of SM&CR processes and procedures within the BAU environment.
Assist in the delivery of a new HR Framework for the SM&CR, training (incl. workshops) for all employees.
Work with cross functional business heads including change, compliance, risk, legal and executive management team.
Test SM&CR controls, processes, procedures and technology applications.
Maintain SM&CR HR documentation and controls. Working with HR Senior Management to support the business and its employees across SM&CR related matters.
Help to embed performance management of the regime alongside partners and management.
Ensure business wide reporting and tracking requirements are delivered.
Monitor recommendations from Internal Audit, Risk Assurance and Compliance Advisory and Monitoring and support HR department in the delivery of their action plans
Own the on-boarding process for new SMF and Certified level employees and ensure this is completed effectively and in line with policy.
Ensure processes are in place for an effective SM&CR handover process.
Maintain record-keeping requirements in respect of SM&CR compliance, embedding business wide reporting and tracking into BAU.
Co-ordinate the annual assessments as appropriate.
What do I need?
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
A good understanding of SM&CR requirements coupled with UK employment law/legislation.
Knowledge of HR business practices relating to performance management and relations.
Experience of delivering change and embedding behaviours into the business.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to work across the business.
Ability to work in partnership with the HR Centres of Expertise teams to ensure all employees are aware of and comply with the requirements of their roles.
Ability to act as an effective interface between the business, senior management and various support functions.
The personality and personal credibility to forge effective relationships and win the respect of peer group colleagues.
Ability to form an overview of the business and identify the links with key issues and their implications.
Awareness of developments in relevant regulation.
Knowledge of current competence regulatory requirements/SMCR (ideally). They will have either already had some exposure to SMCR or currently supporting an implementation plan.
Education and Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Professional qualifications / accreditation
The ideal candidate will hold HR business experience within Financial Services or similar industry and have some understanding of the FCA rules and regulations.
