Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings, and we have recently launched a new system that will revolutionise how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a STARS Technician to join our Product Test team in providing quality and compliant Sensor testing. Through visual inspection of sensors and undertaking a series of physical testing procedures, you will utilise laboratory equipment, machinery and instruments to perform sensor testing and batch record review and approval to support product release, on-market stability, complaints, and product development trials.

You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who can effectively multi-task whilst working within the scope of procedures and protocols, and offer good communication and time management skills. This is a shift working role, on a rotating pattern of early and late shifts, on the following basis: 5 on, 1 off, 5 on, 1 off, 5 on, 4 off.

To be successful, you should have completed secondary education in English and Mathematics, and preference will be given to candidates with a scientific based background, although we would welcome applicants with transferable skills. It would be an advantage to have experience in a regulated, quality oriented industry with experience of GLP and GMP, but full training will be provided.

In addition to a competitive salary, Abbott offers a highly attractive benefits package which includes a defined-contribution pension scheme, a share ownership scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and a flexible benefits scheme which you can tailor to your own requirements.
