MM432- Operations Supervisor [Environmental Waste]
Location - Teeside
Salary - £26000 basic plus overtime

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit Supervisors within their waste division for their depots in Teeside and York. This will involve working away from home on a regular basis. Ex forces personnel with Man Management experience are encouraged to apply.

Purpose of Job:

The purpose of the role is to take responsibility to ensure that the customer requirements are completed and conducted to a high standard observing all Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality and Operational Rules and Procedures of both our client's and the customer’s site rules, as well as, ensuring all legal requirements are always adhered to .

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Ensure all equipment is collected signed for and is checked and in good order. Ensure all test certificates required are correct and in date, reporting any defects by following the company Defect processes/reporting systems.
Take receipt of the Job Documentation and ensure all Teams members adhere to those instructions.
Ensure all RAMS have been read and understood by your Team prior to leaving the Depot.
Ensure that the team members allocated are capable of carrying-out the scope of work as it is known.
Brief the job details to all Team members prior to leaving the depot and ensure that all equipment and team members travel safely to site and arrive on-time.
Assess the job on–site with team and ascertain initial job roles, review RAMS and ensure all of the team sign to say they understand RAMS and task/job.
Ensure prior to working on a client’s site that TBT has been provided.
Use experience and knowledge to identify more practical or appropriate ways (if any) of carrying out the work.
Allocate work to make the best use of the skills of the team members.
Carry out Pre Use Checks of all equipment and vehicles prior to use and report any defects / faults. Check safe operation of all equipment before use.
Work closely with the Operations Team to keep track of progress and quality of work.
Ensure rotation of staff take place regularly (timing of rotation is task specific dependant) to reduce dehydration and fatigue – ensure water and comfort breaks are taken.
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and packed away correctly and neatly and report any defects to Stores / Operations Manager on return to Depot.
Ensure sites are left tidy and safe on job completion.

To be considered:

Candidates who have ex forces experience in a supervisory capacity will be strongly considered.
Supervisory experience in an environmental, waste water or waste management environment.
Flexibility with hours as these can change.
Ability to work away from home on a regular basis.
Full UK Driving license.
