Support Worker needed in Cheltenham for an ongoing temporary to permanent contract

A fantastic supported housing organisation in the centre of Cheltenham has an exciting job opportunity on offer. You will be joining a project within a supported housing organisation who support service users who have a background of homelessness.
Your new role
As a support worker you will be working on a project with service users who have a background of homelessness in the centre of Cheltenham. You will be working Monday to Friday with the odd shifts at the weekends between the hours of either 8am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm. Your shifts will be on a temporary rota basis with a potential to go permanent depending on how your progress in the role. You will be supporting service users with their housing needs, giving advice on benefits and welfare. As a support worker you will be working with housing management (including advising on rent and housing), and will be working with service users on a 121 basis. There will be no personal care or giving out medication.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful support worker you will have experience working within the social housing sector. Experience working with service users with a background of homelessness and challenging behaviour is essential. As a support worker you must be able to be flexible with working your shifts on a Monday to Friday with some weekend shifts. Most importantly you must have a passion, understanding and willingness to help service users with homelessness. It is important that you want to make a difference and really go the extra mile to support this organisation on what they need you to do to help the organisation reach their goals and achievements.
