This award winning established large independent Chartered Accountancy Firm is currently recruiting for a Manager to join its Tax team predominantly based in Inverness

The Role

Supporting a growing client portfolio in the Highland region, this opportunity will allow you to manage and develop a team of staff working to provide a high-quality service for clients. The role will provide you with a high degree of autonomy and represents the opportunity to assist in the continuing growth and development of the Inverness office.

Duties and Responsibilities


- Oversee a portfolio of clients to deliver work according to budget and deadlines
- Reviewing of individual, partnership and trust tax returns
- Reviewing corporation tax provisions, computations and tax returns
- Supervising and developing junior members of staff
- Liaising with colleagues across the firm to provide a co-ordinated service to clients
- Provide technical tax advice on specialist advisory projects
- Preparing fees and budgets/proposals for potential new clients
- Working with partners, build strong client relationships and support business development activities

Skills and Experience

You should be a dedicated professional with good knowledge of both personal tax and corporate tax matters as well as:


- CTA qualified or qualified by relevant experience
- Able to identify and advise on tax issues arising as part of the compliance process
- Have an excellent understanding of the tax legislation and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients and colleagues
- Experience of managing or supervising staff
- Business development skills and ability to build effective client relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem solving skills and the ability to drive completion of projects
- Motivation and commitment to continuously develop
- Effective time management and organisation skills to deliver workload on budget
- Commercial awareness
