A primary school in Richmond is looking to appoint an TA (Teaching Assistant) to work with their SEN students. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or specialist SEN environment.

The school are looking for a teaching assistant who has a passion and interest to work with special needs / SEN. Working with children with SEN can be challenging at times and requires an individual with patience and a calm temperament.

The class consists of 10-12 pupils with a range of SEN (ASD, SLD). You would be working alongside a very experienced teacher who is very supportive, friendly and hardworking.

The ideal candidate would have:
- A proven record of teaching SEN students with a range of needs
- The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners
- Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton (desirable)
- Worked with Autistic children
- Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application
