Description

Objective

To control at shop floor level all activities relating to the effective operation of a defined zone of employee's to ensure all activities are on time and to standard. To support, lead and coordinate the zone team to be proactive in anticipating needs and exceeding business expectations

Goals

�h Safety - To ensure that the health, safety and wellbeing of the team are maintained inline with the site objectives.

�h Quality - Control day to day manufacturing activities at shop floor level and ensure that the quality standards are maintained to the highest level acceptable by our customers Quality.

�h Delivery - To ensure that all products are manufactured and delivered to agreed schedules.

�h Cost - To manage the team to meet the effectiveness and materials required of the zone and identify and develop improvements.

�h People - To lead the zone and ensure that the appropriate standards of behaviour and performance are maintained.

�h Environment - To ensure the zone is controlled to minimize energy and materials use and all waste is correctly dealt with to site standards.

�h To fully deploy the Vacuum Technique Production System in order to ensure that product and information is processed on time and to standard


Tasks

�h Demonstrate visible leadership at all time by actively observing operator performance.

�h Effectively communicate with team and lead the daily SIM2 meetings.

�h Support fellow zone members through active listening and coaching, respect others and share and celebrate success within the zone and beyond.

�h Represent the zone and escalate any relevant issues to the weekly SIM3 meeting.

�h Share best practice and improvement within the zone and where possible between the zones.

�h Implement and maintain the 6S process within the zone to ensure that it's in accordance with the current standard.

�h Involvement in review and update of risk assesments for the zone

�h Stand in for next level management when required.

�h Take prompt action to resolve issues/problems when they are presented

�h Facilitate the formation of the problem solving groups and play an active part to adequately solve the problem in conjunction with other stakeholders.

�h Ensure that all team members are following the zone��s standard operating procedures.

�h In conjunction with the cell engineer identify areas where the standard operating procedures can be improved.

�h Ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner and documented on the SIM2 board

Work closely with the purchasing group to highlight shortage issues and maintain material availability.

�h Ensure effective sickness and holiday cover through the allocation of additional resource and overtime

with the agreement of the cell leader or operations management.

�h Manage the cost within the zone by appropriately allocating and monitoring overtime, getting

agreement with next level management where appropriate

�h Effectively follow and implement the absence management and time and attendance processes for the

team.

�h Ensure that appropriate standards of behaviour and performance are maintained within the zone.

�h Ensure that the VTPS ��Best Observed Behaviours�� are maintained.

�h Escalate as appropriate any behavioural or performance issues to the next level management

�h Support and implement agreed process changes.

�h Maximise efficiency within the cell by ensuring effective use of people, time and resource.

�h Plan, monitor, deliver and control the training of employees to meet the business needs for capability

and capacity.

�h Develop the skills matrix and ensure that it is kept up to date.

�h Through the NPI process ensure a smooth transition of new products into the zone by reviewing

training, process guides and equipment.

�h To manage the zone and ensure that the team understand its responsibilities and achieves the output

requirements

�h To act as a point of reference for members of the team in terms of quality and technical matters.

�h Responsible for development/training and motivation of team members as well as supporting with the

performance review process.

�h Produces product when not undertaking the above tasks
