Senior SQL Developer
The role is for a Microsoft SQL application developer. The purpose is to write robust functional applications which use databases and other technologies to collate, enrich and process business metrics. You will be part of a new team using an Agile methodology to deliver a number of initiatives for the Risk function, including technology migrations and new product development.
What will you be doing?
Design and development of business data solutions using Microsoft MSSQL and similar technologies
Adoption of on-premises and cloud-based virtualised technologies
Contribute to the long term strategy around IT data architecture
Ensure the safe keeping of intellectual property through use of source code control
Assist in the deployment of pre-release functionality and batch runs for User Testing
Provide go-live and post implementation technical support
Understand impact and risk of proposed changes to technology and business processes
Adopt and evolve the agile approach
What we’re looking for:
Experience of data architectures and their design and implementation in relational databases
Experience of source code control utilities such as Git/Bitbucket and knowledge of branching/merging
Use of TeamCity and production deployment tools using a DevOps approach
Demonstrated experience of working with non-technical customers to achieve business value
Skills that will help you in the role:
Amazon Web Services data hosting solutions
Programming tools and languages such as C# or Python
Jira or CA Agile Central
Exposure to Risk, Finance or Treasury functions and processes
