Temporary Payroll Manager, Leeds, Not For Profit, £20-24 per hour, Accountancy

Client Details

A well known social care provider that provides care and support services across the North are looking for a Payroll Manager to take over for an interim period whilst the team has a restructure. The temporary payroll manager must be autonomous with the ability to come in to a busy department and identify key areas for improvement.


The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Deliver an effective and efficient payroll service
- Ensuring all departmental KPIs are met
- Driving team development, managing performance
- Helping with the training, development, and coaching
- Overseeing all year end and reporting
- Working alongside other stakeholders within the business
- Continuous updates of key payroll documentation
- Identify any potential service improvements


The successful candidate will look after a small team and will have the following key skills:

- Previous experience in a payroll manager function
- Public sector or not for profit background desirable
- Advanced level of excel and payroll software packages
- Able to work autonomously
- Able to identify and implement efficiency changes
- Able to contribute to development of the policy and objectives of the department
- Strong performance management skills
- Able to coach and develop staff members, able to motivate them to engage and deliver
- Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partners
- Strong problem solver
- Flexible with approach and able to adapt to change
- Experience of dealing with pensions is desirable but not essential
