At EY, we are expanding our VAT Transformation and technology practice and due to this expansion we are seeking to recruit high achieving individuals to be part of our growing business.

Our high profile VAT Transformation team based within our London offices in the UK focus on assisting clients with transformation programmes and the operational management of VAT. This includes helping clients react to and adjust their VAT management approach as a result of the global trend towards tax authority digitisation. They advise clients on a
wide range of operational, systems and technology projects, including ERP system VAT optimisation, process, controls and supply chain, whilst also working with innovative technologies including machine learning and robotics.

The indirect tax transformation team works with a variety of organisations across all sectors.  The business has been growing year on year and, in order to seize the opportunities available in the market, the team requires new talent.

Currently we are looking to recruit an experienced IT/systems project manager at Manager or Senior Manager level to help manage our largest technology projects with our key clients as well as having a responsibility for overseeing the development and maintenance of our technology tools and offerings. In addition, this individual will take a crucial role in putting in place a robust governance structure with regards to our developments and client deployments.

Your key responsibilities
Working closely with the indirect tax specialists and data analysts/developers, your responsibilities will be to project manage our largest technology engagements and take a lead role in all matters relating to technology and IT within the team.
You will be responsible for effectively managing the deployment of reporting solutions to our largest clients, facing off against key client stakeholders (including business and IT) and closely managing the project work plans and team resources.
You will also be responsible for implementing and putting into action a clear governance structure around the development and maintenance of our reporting and other technology tools. This will include putting in place defined implementation methodologies and templates to ensure deployments are fast, efficient and robust.
You will work closely with the developer resources to drive the development of new tools and technology offerings in line with planned timeframes, ensuring robust IT practices are followed and that governance and documentation is in place.
A key part of the role will also be to act as the conduit between EY IT functions and Indirect Tax to ensure that Indirect Tax tools are developed in line with requirements.
The role will also involve liaising with EY IT and other Technology teams with regards to the development and BAU of all technology tools as it relates to the indirect tax service line.
This liaison with client IT functions will include support to determine the best-fit architecture and technology stack for the solution, as well as managing all IT interdependencies.
The role will also include direct engagement with clients around IT aspects of projects, including liaising with client IT functions.
You will also act as project manager for our largest technology client and internal projects.
You will be expected to work independently and manage your time and workload accordingly, as well as managing your team resources to ensure effective delivery.
You will also be expected to integrate effectively with the Indirect Tax Transformation team and effectively team on projects and client engagements.

Demonstrating experience in one or more of the following competencies is essential:
Application Development (SDLC)
ERP systems or data from ERP systems – especially SAP and Oracle
