** This is a developmental position. Applicants who do not meet the qualifications at the NF-II level will be reviewed for qualifications at the NF-I level and assigned accordingly. Pay will be assigned in compliance with NAF Pay Schedules. (Experience/education may be considered when setting pay). **
Note: If selected below the Target level (rate of pay is $9.50ph), the starting rate of pay for the Entry Level is $8.50ph.
Duties: Provides information, ticket and tour retail services to customers seeking recreation, entertainment and travel opportunities. Sell tickets, makes reservations and sells local and international tours. Sells commercial air, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, car rentals and vacation packages via internet e-ticketing process; uses telephone, fax and computer for travel, reservation, information and bookings. Collects fees, issues and maintains receipts, processes payments/refunds/credits; prepares daily cashier activity reports, bank deposits and any other administrative work required for the daily operations of the program. Provides input of the planning and organizing of local and international tours. As needed escorts group tours. Examines, verifies and analyzes a variety of documents to determine their validity and clerical accuracy. Completes daily, monthly and annual reports as required. Secures and safeguards tickets, charges, fees and the change fund. Submits proper paperwork for payments to vendors and miscellaneous expenses. Collects, sorts, arranges and presents an assortment of information and reference material on international and domestic tours/travel and special events. Maintains historical information. Answers the telephone, provides information pertaining to the activities sponsored by the program. Performs a variety of general office duties such as receiving visitors, routing and filing correspondence, distributing the mail and providing routine support tasks within the facility. Performs general housekeeping duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Target Level (NF-II) Qualifications: Applicant must have experience in the travel industry to include use of live booking systems. Must have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade of the position. Must have knowledge of the rules, regulations and requirements of leisure travel. Must be familiar with a variety of geographical locations worldwide, specifically within the UK/Europe regions. Must demonstrate the ability to perform common mathematical problems and make proper change when receiving payments. Required experience in using office automation software (MS Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Must be able to communicate orally and in writing. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Subject to an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Development Level (NF-I) Qualifications: Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Ability to resolve common arithmetic problems and make change when receiving payments from customer. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Knowledge of office automation software (MS Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Subject to an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
EMPLOYMENT BENEFIT INFORMATION
Regular Employment Category: US NAF employment offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes, in part, annual leave, sick leave, holidays, retirement plan and a 401(k) savings plan. Minimum guaranteed work week hours are 20.
Flexible Employment Category: Flexible employees have work schedules that depend of the needs of the facility. These employees may work a minimum of zero hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. These positions do not receive benefits as mentioned above.
