Job Title: Senior Reference Data Product Owner/Analyst
The Reference Data team is responsible for the development and maintenance of systems for managing Counterparty, Client, Account & Book Reference Data within Barclays as well as the management of the master data contained within these services. Reference Data services / applications provide “Golden Source” data to over 400 other systems across Barclays Group.
In addition, this team is responsible for enhancing awareness, governance, quality, and consistency across the Barclays group data environment. The team works in partnership with the CDO offices to ensure data is compliant with the Barclays Group Data Policy and coordinates the implementation of standards and governance that are critical to both regulatory requirements and Structural Reform.
What will you be doing?
You will be required to manage, prioritise and execute strategic Client data changes within the Reference data Technology team. You will be expected to analyze business requirements, model solutions, and execute a successful delivery. This also includes the management of a small-medium size team of other Product owners and Technical Analysts using agile methodologies, and building a close partnership with multiple Business area, Functions and Technology Teams at senior levels.
Your responsibilities will include;
Product Owner capacity to have oversight and responsibility of representing the Capabilities Product Vision, Product Roadmap and Business Outcomes via the Barclays Lean Control Tool
Build, manage and prioritize feature teams backlogs, and working collaboratively with other feature teams (Feature teams are aligned to specific data domains, Legal Entity, Accounts, SSI’s, Books)
Translate stakeholder requirements and business strategy into executable plans, and see these through to implementation.
Partnership with internal and external leads across Architecture, Engineering, Programmes and Stakeholder community
Driving technical deliverables of the team and ensuring quality of delivery
Allocate resources in an effective manner that ensures project/backlog delivery, while developing skills and experience of the people on the team
Define, lead and present key design requirements or changes to other/central Design Authorities across Barclays
Build, communicate and present solutions and issues to Senior management Director and MD levels
What we’re looking for:
Practical experience or high quality in-depth understanding of Reference Data – Legal Entities, Trading Accounts, Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI’s) and/or Book Data
Evidence of Continuous Improvement and/or Financial Services / IB experience
Business, functional and Technical analytical skills
Demonstrated experience in defining and building Business Requirements, user stories, Business Processes, data modeling, flow documentations and other similar project and technical artefacts
Skills that will help you in the role:
Technical skills to analyze and query data and requirements. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft .NET and SQL Server, XML messaging technologies, version control and continuous integration tools
Delivery of large scale strategic change using Agile methodology
Practice or in-depth knowledge of Trade lifecycle and Product types
Practice or in-depth Knowledge of Trade Settlements
Where will you be working?
The role will be based in 5 North Colonnade of Canary Wharf, the hub of the Front Office trading team
