Support Worker needed for waking nights in Cheltenham for a homeless supported housing project

Your new company

You will be joining a brilliant supported housing project who supports service users with a background in homelessness towards independence helping them move on from the service towards independent living.

Your new role

As a waking night support worker you will be working in a 24/7 project supporting homeless service users towards independence. As a support worker you will be working waking nights between 8pm - 6am. As a support worker you will be carrying out support plans, promoting move on and tracking service user's progress. You will be working with a team of 8 support workers and a senior and will be working with a team as well as required to lone work. As a support worker you will be carrying out support plans, tenancy advice and housing management support. As a support worker you will respond to emergency and crisis situations by providing support, advice, signposting or direct interventions as necessary. As a support worker you will champion service user empowerment, encouraging the services on offer are accessible and relevant.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful support worker you must have working knowledge in supported housing and have working experience in complex needs, specifically homelessness. To be a successful support worker you must have strong knowledge in support plans, be able to communicate with different backgrounds and be passionate about helping people. Furthermore, as you are working with vulnerable people you must have a DBS or have the documents to produce a DBS on your behalf.
