Hertfordshire County Council is looking for a self-motivated, conscientious and reliable Caretaker / Cleaner to support YC Hertfordshire in the maintenance and operation of its Centre for Young People in Watford.

As part of a small team, you will provide a safe, clean environment for users of the centre as well as ensuring the security and maintenance of the building, grounds, fixtures and fittings. You will be a designated keyholder and will be one of a small team responding to emergency and alarm call outs for which additional payment will be made.

Duties will include cleaning, collecting and disposing of site rubbish, replenishment of consumables in staff and public areas including toilets. General porter duties including movement of furniture and equipment within the centre. You will also be responsible for minor building maintenance, fixtures and fittings, ensuring the interior of the centre is kept in good decorative repair and the outside areas are kept clean and tidy. You will help ensure the security of the centre and will be a designated key holder.

You should ideally have knowledge of Health & Safety Procedures and will report all building issues that you are not able to promptly address to the Facilities Administrator.
