Year 2 classroom assistant required from September

Level 2 or above/equivalent teaching assistant qualification required

Recent experience working in a primary school is required; preferably working in a KS1 setting is preferred

Experience working alongside children with 'challenging' behaviour is preferable

A school close to the town centre in Blackburn, BB2 postcode, have approached Teaching Personnel with a role to start from September 2019. The Role:

Year 2 General Teaching Assistant

Working 30 hours per week

Temp to perm contract option

Gain support through the KS1 department and SLT

Support small groups of children with Reading, Writing and Maths.

Responsible for the support of individual children with special educational needs

Support the class teacher and feed up any observations for next steps in planning

Mark the children's work and feedback to the class teacher

The Head teacher:

The Head teacher of this one form entry Blackburn primary school is forward thinking and driven to raising standards in her school. She has worked hard to develop relationships with the families of the children, and develop an excellent relationship in the local area. The school does take a number of children from socially deprived backgrounds and so it is extremely important that the school continue to provide support for the children and their families. The Head teacher has also ensured that the Pupil Premium Funding and allocated SEN Funding has been used effectively to support individual and groups of children. This support has ranged from 1:1 Reading and Writing catch up to 2:1 Autism support.
