    As an English teacher in a local middle school in Berkeley, California (U.S.), I did the following: • Executed the theory and practice of teaching English (sentence construction, grammar, etc.) to a group of 8th grade students in Willard Middle School (Berkeley, CA) who had failed their English classes. • Learned how to address class issues such as behavior management, lack of motivation, low self-esteem, and low academic performance through a weekly seminar from the program’s leading facilitators.

    In Pasadena City College, I was an English tutor in charge of assisting students of all ages, levels, and nationalities with following duties: • Taught syntax and grammar to ESL students (about 20 per week) through interdisciplinary learning, such as incorporating music, popular cultural references, and technology into tutoring lessons. • Developed a guided writing approach to be utilized during tutoring sessions to gradually strengthen students’ heuristic abilities to self-improve constructing and correcting written papers. • Implemented interactive oral discussions to boost tutee’s critical thinking and solidify modes of argumentation for argument-based writing assignments.
