The MYCA program gives at-risk youth a second chance; an opportunity to regain their future and realize their goals. Mentoring is considered the keystone element to the success of the program. In becoming a Mentor, you provide a young person an additional resource for support and guidance. Mentoring participation is critical to the program and to the future of these young people.

Assisted with fundraising efforts for Cancer Awareness and Research. Performed volunteer work for incentive program for local student athletes. Catalyst in battle of childhood obesity for area youth, with development and launch of new athletic enrichment opportunities. Registered Bone Marrow Donor. At 41, I was the oldest team member. Played the position of linebacker.
Law Enforcement Park Ranger/EMT-B/Firefighter/Search & Rescue
August 2000 - June 2002
Served in multiple roles (including Law Enforcement Park Ranger, EMT-B, Fire Fighter, Search and Rescue, and Court Bailiff) for the Grand Canyon National Park, one of the highest-volume call areas in the national park system. Provided protection for the federal judge and prisoners as the Court Bailiff. Was a member of a fugitive detail that consisted of five Park Rangers that, without incident, arrested, processed, and brought before the Federal Magistrate 6 suspects, all with valid local warrants. Per Judge Verkamp, this was one of the largest roundups that the Grand Canyon Park has ever seen. Post 9/11 was assigned for 30 days to the Glen Canyon Dam at Lake Powell, Arizona for security detail to prevent threats from terrorist attacks.
Airborne Ranger / Infantryman / Somalia Veteran / 10% Disabled Veteran

Experience in an elite, specialized force as a U.S. Army Ranger during both wartime and peacetime. Extensive experience in patrolling, raids, ambushes, airfield seizures, physical and personal security, hostage recovery, search and rescue, reconnaissance operations, and other situational training exercises in urban, woodland, and desert environments. Expert marksman in all assigned weapon systems. • Extensively trained with the Army’s Elite Delta Force Unit and other special ops units such as the Navy Seals, Army’s Green Berets, Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment “Night Stalkers” and the British’s SAS. • Deployed with Delta Force and other special ops units to Mogadishu, Somalia, as a member of “Task Force Ranger”. Deployed to Somalia after Bravo Company endured their first causality of the conflict.
