Through a staff of thirty employees and three direct reports, directed the planning, business development and network deployment of all fiber optic communications programs and services. Responsible for the planning, engineering design and construction of a 7,000 mile network with high-end SONET and DWDM capability. Established business relationships and developed pricing proposals with customers to provide wholesale carriers-carrier, competitive access services and dark fiber or joint-build turn-key construction services.

Directed fifteen electric system coordinators and four electric system planning engineers in the planning, operation and coordination of all high voltage transmission facilities (345KV and below) within Illinois Power’s control area. Managed the $100 M capital and O&M budget for operation of the electric transmission system. Established pricing policy and open access tariff development strategies. Responsible for all transmission service contracts and power coordination agreements with wholesale customers. Represented Illinois Power on several committees including the Midwest Independent System Operator, Mid-America Interconnected Network (MAIN), Edison Electric Institute and the Electric Power Research Institute.
