In 2007 I began traveling the world (presently at 34 countries and over 2 years abroad). This experience has proved invaluable gaining new perspective, understanding, and compassion for this world we all share. I continue to challenge myself daily by observing, asking, doing, and inspiring.

  • Skilled Laborer

    at Ellards Custom Countertops

    August 2016 - October 2016

Assisted the shop manager and owner as a jack of all trades using an assortment of power and hand tools to shape wood, Corian, and laminate to custom specifications for clients. Often unsupervised, I was given direction and a list of tasks at the beginning of each shift with an opportunity to ask questions when unsure. Tear downs and installs were also a part of the position and care was taken to minimize mess and any damage to existing structures.

  • Vine Loader and Tractor Driver

    at Hops Products Australia

    March 2016 - April 2016

    State of Tasmania

Participated as part of a 50+ member team in the successful and safe harvesting of more than 400 tonnes of fresh hops. The work performed was during a 10.5hr night shift often in cold and rainy conditions. Our job was to drive tractor/trailers into the fields where a top cutter would drop the hop vines into the trailer. The vines were then transported to a warehouse for loading of vines (The bay I was assigned to in conjunction with my partner was personally responsible for loading over 6,000 vines at an average of 25lbs a vine per night) onto hooks which would then run up to a machine which would separate hop leaves from cones for drying.

  • Tour Leader

    at American Adventures

    July 2009 - September 2014

Provided transportation along with logistical planning and coordination for small groups (Max 13) adventure tours across the United States and Canada. Tours ranged from 3-80 days and exceeded 15,000 driving miles. I was given a rough itinerary to follow based on the brochure and then freedom to fill-in the blanks with my own artistic style as deemed suitable once the groups interests became more evident. Once interests were discovered it was part of the leaders duties to arrange daily optional activities including hikes in national parks, city tours, or adventure tours such as white water rafting or helicopter rides over the Grand Canyon with trusted and approved vendors. Most tours were camping based where the equipment was provided and included an introductory tutorial. A rotational system was used break the group into small teams for assisting with cooking and clean-up duties. Other duties of a tour leader include information sharing, conflict resolution, cooking, and accounting.
