Student Body Representative

I serve as the representative for the Undergraduate Student Body and the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology to the Innovation Council. This council was created by UC Berkeley's Vice Chancellor of Research, Paul Alivisatos, in order to better establish the entrepreneurial environment within UC Berkeley. This includes many short, mid, and long-term goals regarding the redistribution of University grants to different departments.
Student Organization Coordinator

The College of Engineering (COE) had never provided sponsorship for STEM related student organizations. This meant that many tech consulting organizations, student startup incubators, and launchpad projects were operating independently without support from the COE. By working together with Professors Ikhlaq Sidhu and Ken Singer, the management team of the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET), I pioneered the new role as Student Organization Coordinator (SOC) to give sponsorship to these student organizations. I act as the liaison between student organizations on UC Berkeley campus and SCET. In the upcoming Spring semester, I will coordinate the fundraising proposals of 8 entrepreneurial student groups on campus to be able to provide over $10,000 in sponsorship. The success of these organizations not only rests on financial support but also the leadership demonstrated by the executive leadership of these student organizations that I have helped mentor.

During my time at 自在客 (China's version of Airbnb) I operated as a direct advisor to CEO and Founder, Jack Zhang, on topics ranging from daily work-flow to global marketing visions. There had been a lack of communication with the 6 operating teams (split into 2 teams managing property in Korea, 2 teams managing property in Japan, and 2 teams managing property in China) in 2 locations in shanghai and 1 remote team in Taipei (for managing property in Taiwan). During monthly review meetings, there had always been a lack of consensus for measuring revenue from these 7 teams. I worked with the CFO to garner a standardization method for these different teams. Lastly, I provided an operation model for the CEO to implement in order to tap into the United States market.
User Experience Designer

I utilized IBM's Design Thinking model to envision and design 90% of the web interface for the Tealeaf online application platform. Tealeaf was founded in 1999 and was acquired by IBM as part of its consumer analytics department. IBM's design thinking model is to Observe, Reflect, and Make. After successfully pitched the new user interface to the founders of Tealeaf I put into effect an 8-month execution timeline for the software engineering team to create and implement the new UX design.
