Total patient care for the Emergency Department Observation and Inpatient involves three levels of care: IMU, Telemetry, and Med Surg. There is a heavy focus on oncology, surgical oncology, and bone marrow transplant. The RN must be qualified to care for the highest level of care, IMU, and have special training in critical care, oncology concepts, surgery and medicine.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.


- Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California.


- BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six months of hire date.


- Minimum one year of recent acute care RN experience at Telemetry or higher acuity.


- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


- Must be able to work within a busy team environment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BSN/MSN.


- Recent acute care IMU/CDU, Observation, or ED Inpatient (EDIP) experience.


SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.


- Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.


- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.


- Per Diem shift requirement is an average of 1 shift per week per 4-week schedule. Must be available 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule and a minimum of 1 holiday. This is subject to change based on individual department needs.


- Selected candidate will be required to attend a minimum of 3-4 consecutive business days of New Employee Orientation.
