Manage the processing of accounts payable, wholesale direct order billing, and cash disbursements for Southern States Cooperative, Inc., Member Cooperatives and subsidiaries.
Responsibilities include: Manage staff whose principal responsibilities include reviewing, researching and processing transactions related to inventory, direct order products, and non-inventory invoices such as operating expenses.
This includes directing and prioritizing staff workload to ensure accurate and timely customer service is provided.
Manage company-wide vendor disbursements, including checks and electronic forms of payment such as ACH and wires.
Develop and monitor staff key performance indicators to measure department efficiency.
Develop and implement process improvements including system automation initiatives.
Work closely with Operations to proactively identify and address issues related to vendors such as billing and purchase order accuracy.
Work closely with treasury to provide daily cash forecast analysis.
Record monthly purchasing card charges, investigating and resolving suspicious activity.
Manage the timely and accurate month end close processes for Accounts Payable including preparing analyses and general ledger reconciliations.
Maintain information for processing escheat payments for outstanding checks.
Manage the 1099 process and filings with the IRS related to vendor payments.
Compile schedules and analysis required by independent auditors as requested.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and control procedures related to accounts payable and customer billing.
