Responsibilities Role Summary:
The Global Communications division is responsible for all internal and external communications pertaining to the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group and Universal Pictures. The department provides communications counsel, representation and support for the executive leadership of and all Universal Pictures business divisions, including Universal Pictures International, Universal Partnerships & Licensing, Universal Stage Productions, Business Affairs, Strategic Planning, Home Entertainment, Production, Marketing, as well as Television and Digital Distribution. In addition to being the main liaison to the media on issues pertaining to Universal’s businesses, films in development, corporate affairs and box office, the department serves as a key point of contact for filmmakers, publicists, talent agencies and Universal’s production and financial relationships. The division led by the Executive Vice President, Global Communications, reports to the Chairman(s) of Universal Filmed Entertainment.

Essential Responsibilities:
Supports the Executive Vice President, both Senior Vice Presidents, and Director of Internal Communications, who handle all internal and external communications for Universal’s film division
Serves as the initial point of contact for the public and Universal’s Communications department
Provides support to both SVPs in the areas of travel, scheduling and daily needs such as implementing phone calls, conference calls and engagements
Provides support to Communications and Publicity staff at major studio events and premieres as directed by the Special Events team
Supports the EVP and Communications team with planning and execution of company-sponsored special events
Light copy editing and daily research including media monitoring and social media tracking
Responsible for administrative duties including SAP-related accounting and office management (filing, ordering department supplies, expenses, etc.)
Maintains press, executive and external contact lists;
Maintains team calendars, events and awards calendars
Updates all relevant Communications department databases and worksheets
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
College degree required.
Some office or reception experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications.
Fundamental understanding of news outlets covering the entertainment industry
Ability to multitask while handling significant incoming calls and requests.
Ability to cultivate relationships with key staff.
Understanding of and interest in all relevant social media platforms.
